Representatives of the North East Texas Independent School District have confirmed that 20 schools in the district have been infected with ransomware…
Through the months of March and early April, the schools in the district reported ransomware infections were climbing. Overall, the school school district stated the cyber-criminals locked around 2.5 TB of data information. Fortunately, the schools were able to continue functioning due to the backup systems the school district had in place.
By April 9, the technology department was able to work quickly and delete all the encrypted files, whilst using backup data to return the systems to normal.
We have generated an interactive map that includes all of the ransomware attacks within the United States that have occurred this year.
