Yuba City was hit with ransomware yet again…
In August, the Yuba-Sutter Medical Center was hit with ransomware, shutting down computers for days. A month later, ransomware took down Yuba City’s computers for 14 hours. Officials reported four of the 35o city computers were infected with ransomware. Luckily, since they were able to identify the infection quickly, Yuba City employees were able to isolate the incident.
Using the city’s backup files, they were able to get operations back to normal within 24 hours. However, during the recovery time, employees throughout every City department, were unable to access any shared files.
