Cyberattack Disrupts Pennsylvania Online Court System

The Pennsylvania online court system has experienced a cyberattack, with Chief Justice Debra Todd confirming the disruption due to a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The incident was detected on Saturday, prompting the court’s IT team to take measures, including blocking certain regions globally.

Collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI is underway to investigate the attack’s motive. While there is no evidence of data compromise, the impact on court web services, including docket sheets and payment systems, has led to service interruptions. Verizon is working on a virtual patch, but the site remains inaccessible. The courts, however, remain open, and updates on the situation are expected.
