The Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky is recovering from the Locky crypto-ransomware attack. This, after a staff member opened an attachment to a spam e-mail.
After locking the organization’s files, the ransom demands were 4 bitcoins (approximately $1,600) to recover all data that was breached.
Fortunately, the hospital reports regaining control of the company systems and files without paying the ransom, and continue to operate from their back-up files.
