Rhinebeck Central School District, located in New York, was the latest school to be struck with ransomware…
Luckily, Rhinebeck was able to isolate the issue and the files that were encrypted were able to be restored via backup systems. The files that were encrypted were not current files being used; therefore, they were still able to function some-what normally. The ransom that was demanded was $500 USD; however, fortunately the school did not need to pay it, as their backup systems were up to date.
