A St. Louis-based healthcare management company called Navvis sent letters to adult and minor patients of SSM Health, warning them of a data breach that occurred between July 12 and July 25.
The breach included potential exposure of personal information such as health insurance policy numbers, account numbers, and medical treatment details. Navvis and SSM Health confirmed the authenticity of the letter, acknowledging the cyberattack on Navvis’ systems.
While the exact number of affected patients is unknown, Navvis is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and identity protection services. Social Security numbers were potentially compromised, but SSM Health clarified that the patient’s Social Security numbers were not accessed in the unauthorized breach.
