At the time of its release, the Dimension XPS Gen 5 was Dell’s current top-of-the-line desktop. It was marketed as a not just for gaming machine but also a a system supporting a lot of media features like recoding TV, authoring and burning DVDs . The Dimension XPS Gen 5 was one of thefirst system with the dual-core Pentium Extreme Edition 840 (Pentium EE 840) processor. Intel's 3.2 GHz Pentium Extreme Edition 840, contains two processors on a single chip, each with 1MB of Level 2 cache and a dedicated pipeline to the 800MHz frontside bus. Base standard features include a 250 GB - Serial ATA hard drive and Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS.

3/2/2010 3:09:01 AM I had a game installed before the new hard drive was installed & the operationg system was re done from scratch again. The game ran fine before, now it locks up & shuts down at a certain point into the game. I had already passed this point before the computer was fixed?
